The New Blackberry 9700 Is About To Hit The Market. Here’s What It Looks Like

A new BlackBerry is about to join the extensive BlackBerry family and we can not be happier. It is a true celebration following a very long anticipation for the shiny, sleek BlackBerry Bold 9700 or the “Onyx” as some like to call it.

There were a few leaks and geeks reviewing some of the early models of this new T-Mobiled smart RIM device, and things are looking good for the new 3G BlackBerry. The web is flowing with reviews and previews and we’ve gathered the info and here’s what you should expect from the new BlackBerry 9700.

The Package as you might expect from a BlackBerry, keeps the usual appearance, although it looks slightly smaller. Don’t get us wrong, this is by far the prettiest BlackBerry out there and it even comes with faux leather back and a small trackpad for getting around. There’s also a great looking screen with a fine 480×360 resolution, a standard for RIM.

Keyboard is an important issue with these phones that basically reduce talking time and heightens texting and mailing and clicking time. This Keyboard is not the biggest we tried, not the smallest we clicked, but certainly the nicest of them all. The keys might scare you off as too small but they are perfectly designed for precision typing so once you get the hang of things and find the right angle – you’re good to go.

Internet experience? This BlackBerry features a 3G web browsing and even Wi-Fi calling. You also get visual voicemail and some corporate e-mail support options. It comes with a bunch of preloaded apps which includes Amazon’s own MP3 store and a GPS navigator. The surfing made easier thanks to the trackpad, but the browser is a bit annoying. It’s good to know that T-Mobile will maximize the Wi-Fi experience with its HotSpot home service which means that you’ll be able to Wi-Fi your calls around the house.

Talking? Yep! This baby can also function as a phone which is a nice extra. Calls sound clear and voices sound crisp. The speakerphone sounded well, even at a high volume. The new phone also features a much improved battery life. The battery seemed to be an issue with earlier models and RIM made an extra effort to get you more talking on a single charge. There’s also the always welcome 3.2 megapixel AF camera, but nothing too exciting probably.

Of course that these are all bits and pieces of information attached together. There is no official model released yet, although there are pics of the BlackBerry 9700 available online. Anyway you look at it, the BlackBerry 9700 is a great addition to the BBerry family; a high-end device with many new and exciting features.

The model is said to be released any day now and at www.everything4blackberry.com we’re getting ready and stocked with all necessary accessories to make your BlackBerry 9700 experience even better. I too used the sidekicks 1,2, 3 & 2008 over the past 4 years. I had trouble with my Sidekick months before the outage. Camera didn't work and it muted my conversation a lot. I didn't want to send for a replacement because my history of "like new" replacements was that they were usually in worse condition than the one I sent in. I loved the sidekick's ease of use. I could cruise along comfortably and quickly, but admit it had it's limitations on browsing.
I just recently upgraded to the CLIQ and it's comparable in some aspects-weight, proportion, big screen. I can't quit reaching for my "jump" button and it's an adjustment getting used to the touch screen cuz I'm not used to touch affecting my actions. The keypad doesn't have as many rows and the secondary characters are not illuminated as brightly as sidekick, unless you hold down the alt key. I like the size of the keys though, much better than Google 1's flush keys. The spacebar is shorter and the comma key moved. I don't like to change after adapting to Sidekick over the years, but after using the CLIQ, I see how much Sidekick was lacking. I think it's going to be as easy to use as Sidekick once I get it down. I've not tried the Blackberry phones, but I recommend CLIQ-just keep in mind it takes time to adjust after using Sidekick.
