Recently, Nokia has released a new firmware version for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. It is version 40.0.005 or just V40. However, this update may not be available for all product models that may have to check if your particular model of Nokia 5800 is one of the models with a firmware update available. If not, you may have to wait some time for the same update is available for the phone and in your country.
The new firmware version is now compatible with the displacement kinetics similar to that of other touch phones like the iPhone. The home screen is also changed to make it appear that Nokia is in 5530. Other changes include a new contact and music players, new version of Ovi Maps 3.0, the automatic activation of the QWERTY keyboard in landscape mode, Contacts Ovi, updated in Real Player, and more. The conclusion is that this new firmware will certainly improve the user experience with the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.
In case you do not know yet how to download films the new firmware and update the current firmware, there are two ways to do this:
1. Download to your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic
This works well if the phone is connected to the Internet via WiFi or through other connections, such as a data plan from your service provider. To download and update, open the phone dialer and key * # 0000 #. A new screen will appear showing the current firmware version and other information. Select “Options” and then “Check for Updates. This will detect the available updates for your phone. If v40 is available, just follow the onscreen instructions until the firmware is fully updated.
2. Download using the computer
If you do not already have it, download and install the Nokia Software Updater. After doing so, connect your phone to your computer via USB connector or the cable and open Nokia Software Updater. Simply follow the onscreen instructions until you complete the upgrade.
